Final Project EUTHANASIA

As you certainly have heard lately Mexico Introduces Euthanasia Legislation...

For a Final Project think about this controversial topic and write about it and if you have lived a close experience regarding to it, feel free to share if that's ok with you.

Do you agree with the video? What would you do?

Do ‘old people’ have any value to society? If so, what is their value?
Did you ever have a connection with your grandparents? What was the connection? Did you listen to them?
Is it a family’s responsibility to pay for the care of a terminally ill family member? Should the family be able to choose to let the family member die?
If a family member is in great pain and wants to die should he or she be given the right to be euthanized?
What would you do if you had a terminal illness? How would you act? Would you want your family to take care of you?
What are the laws like regarding Euthanasia in Mexico? Are they different from other countries?

Mid-Term Project - Adoption

This is a very important issue you need to work on...

A baby has been found abandoned on the steps of a church, and the mother has disappeared. You have been asked to send a letter to decide who should adopt the child. Think about the following criteria and mark the ideas as to how important they are, on a scale of 1-5 (5 = vitally important, 1 = relevant). If you were the one who has to make a decision. What would you do? At the end write your conclusion and reinforce it by mentioning your reasons here, where it says comments and print it out to discuss it next class. (20 or more lines)

The adoptive parents should:

- both be under 35 years old

- be a couple, i.e. the child should not go to a single parent family

- have some professional experience of dealing with children, i.e. as teachers or nurses

- have other children in the family

- both be in full time employment

- be of the same racial group as the child

- be either in the middle-income bracket or rich

- be married

- not adhere to any minority religious group or cult

"Why Should I Cry For You"

How do you like this song? Does it make you think of a particular relationship you once had? Share your story...

STING LYRICS
Under the dog star sail
Over the reefs of moonshine
Under the skies of fall
North, north west, the Stones of Faroe

Under the Arctic fire
Over the seas of silence
Hauling on frozen ropes
For all my days remaining
But would north be true?

All colours bleed to red
Asleep on the ocean's bed
Drifting on empty seas
For all my days remaining

But would north be true?
Why should I?
Why should I cry for you?
Dark angels follow me
Over a godless sea
Mountains of endless falling,
For all my days remaining,

What would be true?

Sometimes I see your face,
The stars seem to lose their place
Why must I think of you?
Why must I?
Why should I?
Why should I cry for you?
Why would you want me to?
And what would it mean to say,
That, "I loved you in my fashion"?

What would be true?
Why should I?
Why should I cry for you?

Song

You're Beautiful
James Blunt

Instructions:
Pay attention on the plot of the song and try to describe where the scene is taking place and what is the relationshio between the girl and the singer. Make your comments

My life is brilliant.
My life is brilliant
My love is pure.
I saw an angel.
Of that I'm sure.
She smiled at me on the subway.
She was with another man.
But I won't lose no sleep on that,
'Cause I've got a plan.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.

Yes, she caught my eye,
As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was,
Fucking high,
And I don't think that I'll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last 'till the end.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.

La la la la la la la la la

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
There must be an angel with a smile on her face,
When she thought up that I should be with you.
But it's time to face the truth,
I will never be with you.
