Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning?
"Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)"
ALAN JACKSON LYRICS
Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day
Out in the yard with your wife and children
Working on some stage in LA
Did you stand there in shock at the site of
That black smoke rising against that blue sky
Did you shout out in anger
In fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry
Did you weep for the children
Who lost their dear loved ones
And pray for the ones who don't know
Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble
And sob for the ones left below
Did you burst out in pride
For the red white and blue
The heroes who died just doing what they do
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer
And look at yourself to what really matters
I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love
Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day
Teaching a class full of innocent children
Driving down some cold interstate
Did you feel guilty cause you're a survivor
In a crowded room did you feel alone
Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her
Did you dust off that bible at home
Did you open your eyes and hope it never happened
Close your eyes and not go to sleep
Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages
Speak with some stranger on the street
Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow
Go out and buy you a gun
Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watching
And turn on "I Love Lucy" reruns
Did you go to a church and hold hands with some stranger
Stand in line and give your own blood
Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family
Thank God you had somebody to love
I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love
I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love
The greatest is love
The greatest is love

I was in bed because I was sick, when my sister turned on the TV and we could see the first attack, and when we were watching the TV, the other plane crashed into the second tower; the scene was terrible, because in minutes they were destroyed.
I remember that I said."That's not true, it's a film". We couldn't believe that this was happening.
I think that the world changed a lot and it will never be the same.
This was a terrible event. A lot of people died. People in all the world is now afraid all the time, wondering that an attack like that would never happen again. The security in airports hes been increased, and USA will never be the same..
I talked to my mom obout this topic and she told me I was working when I listened the news I was very sad because this attack was terrible, I couldn´t believe it.
I talked to my brother and he told me when I watched the news I was sad but the innocent people but I was angry because I thought what happen with people? why do they do things like these? it was terrible.

September 11th, 2001 me the same as Takuin I was working without access to some communication means and I also received my wife's call and she informed me of that already happened after both airplanes crashed in NY. My first feeling was of pain toward people death in the towers but also although this happened in United States I felt insecure and confused trying to think as it would affect us and all world this terrorist attack.
Months later I realized this unfortunately event and others as wars is a consequence of not fixing our goals thinking of the common well-being, that is to say we don't begin to think of the neighbor countryman or foreigner, with this I don't seek to justify these events but, I want to express that at the moment we live submerged in a terrible indifference and selfishness that little by little this crawling us toward a destruction level that although at the moment it is not so clear and do burden the future generations they will be strongly affected and sadly they did wonder “why our ancestors didn't make something to respect?
Well, I was in the school when the attacks happened. I remember that one teacher told us about these and my partners and I got scare. When I went to my home my family was worried because we have a relative in New York.
At the following day my grandmother called him and he and his family were ok, but he told her about the terrible things that happened.
I think about it, and I can't find an answer that bad people can hurt a lot of inocents.
I don't found words to describe the great tragedy that happened this day.

Way went to the office, when I listened by the radio that a plane had hit the WTC, like the reporter, I thought that it had been an accident.
Minutes later I listened that a second plane had crashed too, I though that it had been an attack to the biggest power of the world.
I felt fear by the consequences that this could have and by the proximity from the USA to us. I thought, it was possible that the third world war untied.
Took the cellular phone and called to my sister who lives in Las Vegas, because I wanted to knew if she was well. She commented that all was good.
Today I am convinced that that tragedy was caused for the USA government, and was the pretext to attack Iraq, and to take advantage a natural resource (oil). The USA previously had divided the Iraq territory, separating Kuwait who is the greater oil production of the region.
In conclusion: the man is the animal that will end this planet and everything because of interests and power.
I thought that the interests of a few personnel caused the death of many.
I´d like so much tath song.
Whem that happen I was in my house, and I saw the notice in the TV with my grandmother.
I think that it was a terrible event but is more terrible that the president doesn't think and stop.
